Sweet Swiss Christmas Magic

Today, we will combine Switzerland's amazing scenery with some lakeside Christmas magic and a journey on Santa’s very own cog rail train, ascending more than 1500 meters to some of the highest peaks in the snow-capped Swiss Alps. At the top Santa will be waiting, eager to receive your Christmas wish list in the traditional fashion. Take in the spectacular alpine mountain view and catch a glimpse the majestic Mount Blanc (weather permitting).

After descending into what can only be described as an ocean of sparkling lights, spoil yourself at a typical Swiss Christmas Market, “Marche de Noel”. This is the one of the largest markets in Switzerland, offering you the chance to see firsthand how our Swiss neighbors celebrate Christmas. The illuminated lake-front as a twinkling backdrop to this alpine Christmas fantasy of Glühwein (mulled wine), an array of regional culinary specialties and handcrafted specialties. Visit the Loggers Village, the Gourmet Space, watch the light show, take a spin in the Ferris wheel or find the workshop of the famous Laederach Chocolatiers, where Children are welcome to decorate their own holiday chocolate (not included).

Inclement Weather Disclaimer

Train conductors may determine that weather conditions are unsafe for the train to make the journey to the mountaintop. The train not running due to weather is a rare event but unfortunately, this decision is not made until the tour is underway. In the event that the train portion of the tour program not be possible, we will spend our day in Montreux at the Christmas market and participants will receive a partial refund equal to the cost of the train ride.
