Indulge in a sweet and savory day in the amazing alpine scenery of Switzerland! Our day kicks off with a sweet start in the town of Broc, home to the Nestle Chocolate factory, “Maison Cailler.” Here, you will learn the sweet story about the candy-coated secrets of Swiss chocolate, during a tour of the factory production line. See first-hand how this delectable confection is made and indulge in chocolate samples with an “all you can taste” chocolate experience! 

Next, we travel through the charming countryside of the Saane Valley to the medieval town of Gruyères where we explore the magic and mystery of the famous Gruyère cheese. Learn what makes this premium cheese so delicious, from loving care the cows receive to the high standards of production, to create this full-flavored dairy delight.  We will follow Cow Cerise (Cherry) on a self-guided journey through a local dairy where all the delicious secrets of this distinguished cheese will be revealed to us, including a glimpse at the cheese production line.  Your cravings for this mouthwatering snack will be blissfully satisfied with a sampling of cheeses produced by the local fromager’s with over a century of cheese making experience.

Afterward, we invite you to explore the sites of the historic town of Gruyere at your own pace. Visit the magnificent 13th-century Castle of Gruyères, take in the natural alpine scenery, enjoy the quaint shops or an authentic Swiss Fondue for lunch. H.R. Giger’s Café & Museum, which celebrates the artist’s peculiar aesthetic, famously seen in his set designs and monsters in the “Aliens” movie franchise is a must-see for film buffs. Our final stop takes us to Switzerland’s most famous cheese destination, the Castle of Gruyere with more delicious treats!  This tour offers the perfect blend of fantastic food, mountain scenery and exploring some of Switzerland’s popular sights!
