This Holiday Weekend leave everyday life behind and journey with RTT into Viking territory on a 4 day, 3-overnight trip and enjoy the magical flair on our journey to Copenhagen, Denmark.
Day 1: We journey from Ramstein directly to the port of Puttgarden on the Island of Fehmarn, Germany, board our Ferry and we’ll be on the way to Rödby on the Island of Lolland, Denmark. After a short scenic drive crossing the famous Faro-bridges connecting the Islands Falster and Seeland we arrive in Copenhagen in the afternoon.
We check in to our downtown Hotel in Copenhagen and have some ample time to relax followed by a dinner at the Hotel.
Day 2: After a good night’s rest, it’s time for a hearty breakfast before embarking on another exciting day of exploration. We begin our day with a guided tour through the famous Danish capitol with it’s magnificent buildings and beautiful squares. On our sight-seeing tour, we will see the little Mermaid as well as several castles that are located in the city center, for example Castle Amalienborg with its impressive Palace Square.
The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace. Our recommendation; Nyhavn (New Harbor) with its impressive 17th century waterfront and lively entertainment district. Marvel along the canal speckled with historical wooden ships and indulge in some local delicacies. Besides the well-known Smorrebrod, delicious Danish pastry, we have been told the northern capitol is also known for the best Ice cream.
This weekend, the festival of lights illuminates the dark hours, transforming the city into a wonderland of magical colors and shining creativity. Tonight join us on an illuminated harbor cruise along the glowing canals of this northern metropolis. We will see fascinatingly illuminated buildings, glowing sculptures and luminescent monuments.
Day 3: After another hearty breakfast, join us to visit Castle Rosenborg and the Kongs Have Park, treasury to the Danish Kings and Queens for over 400 years. One of the attractions at Rosenborg Castle is the Knight's Hall with the coronation throne, guarded by three silver lions. The victorious Rosenborg tapestries can also be visited in the Knights' Hall and are dating back to 1693.
The remainder of the day is free for your independent exploration and the chance to once more soak up the unique ambiance of this royal metropolis.
Day 4: After breakfast and hotel checkout, it is time to begin our journey home and bid Copenhagen farewell.
