Mosel River Wine Country

Explore the bounty of the Mosel river from the beautiful scenery to the delicious wine and beer that this region is famous for!  This amazing day out allows you to harvest the best the Mosel has to offer, from a wine tasting, brewery hall visit combined with a traditional lunch – all included for one great price!

This special trip begins at the Walter J. Winery, a premium, 13 generation Moselle wine producer who will introduce us to the world of winemaking and Mosel grape varietals through a tour of the winery and guided tasting.  The award-winning wines produced here boast a modern style that showcases all of the best qualities the Mosel wine region is known for.  We will learn how the climate on the Mosel riverbanks and the rich soil is reflected in the wine's bouquet and why the saying “in vino veritas (under the influence, a person tells the truth)” is so true!

Next, we take a short scenic drive through the Mosel valley, alongside the river and the many carefully manicured rows of naked vines that are now sleeping for the winter, revealing steep vineyards, picturesque villages, hidden away castles and castle ruins.  We arrive at our final destination, the popular and historic wine-growing town of Bernkastel–Kues. The cobblestone streets framed by adorned half-timbered houses create a dreamy ambiance and vintage atmosphere that will at once, charm and delight you. Here we have the opportunity to visit the castle high above and sit down for a delicious local lunch in one of the traditional restaurants. Fully stocked with amazing wine and perfect memories we return back to Ramstein.
