French Christmas Magic

Experience the combined old-world magic and romance of Christmas that is often lost in our busy lives, but truly preserved and waiting for you to savor in the Alsace region of France. We’ll start the day with a visit to the Gingerbread factory of Fortwenger, well known beyond French borders and famous for artisan Gingerbread and other traditional Alsatian snacks like Bredele and Nougatine. Based in Gertwiller, the company has been around for over 200 years and selling most delicious French sweats fit for the season.

Our first Christmas Market will be the Marchè Noel in Colmar, where the illuminated town center is decorated like a Christmas fairy tale, creating a festive atmosphere simply unmatched anywhere else in France. It is time to live in the moment, so let’s take it slow and immerse into a world of delicious treats, handcrafted treasures, and streets filled with wooden chalets surrounded by aromas found only at Christmas time.

Our final destination is the medieval town of Equisheim, considered to be one of the top ten most beautiful towns in the French Alsace region. Encircled by the most famous vineyards that give the “vin chaud” (hot mulled wine) its most exquisite taste.
