This Valentine's day melt your Valentines heart with a day of sweet and savory Romance in beautiful Switzerland. Our day kicks off with a sweet start in the town of Broc, home to the Nestle Chocolate factory, “Maison Cailler.” During the visit, you’ll learn the sweet story of chocolate, tour the factory production line and see how the delicious candy is made. All this is guaranteed to send your sweet tooth into overdrive, but fear not, there will be samples! Your cravings will be satisfied with an “all you can taste” chocolate tasting experience at the end of the tour.
Next, we ascend into the charming countryside surrounding Gruyères, and here we discover the mysteries of how the town's world-renowned cheese is made. During our visit, we will get to see the cheese production facilities and most importantly – sample a variety of cheeses and taste the hundreds of years of cheese making experience, how the right water and keeping the cows happy makes a world of difference in the quality of this fantastic cheese!
After our first tast of the local cheese, followed by some wine, we invite you to the most traditional lunch in Switzerland, the famous “Fondue Moitiè-Moitiè” followed by a typical dessert from the Gruyere area. After lunch, you are free to explore the sites of this historic town at your own pace. Visit the magnificent 13th-century Castle of Gruyères, take in the natural scenery or enjoy the quaint shops. Movie buffs shouldn’t miss a quick espresso in our personal favorite, HR Giger’s Café & Museum, which celebrates the artist’s peculiar aesthetic, famously seen in his design of the sets and monsters in the “Aliens” movie franchise. With the day at its end, we will climb aboard our coach, ready for sweet dreams as we return to Ramstein.
