Prague & Karlovy Vary

Let RTT introduce you to Golden Prague and the spa town of Karlovy Vary on a 2-overnight exploration to bohemia’s best loved cities.  These cities offer something for everyone: history, culture and great shopping for almost anything imaginable.  Both Prague and Karlovy Vary are known for great bargains on Bohemian crystal, porcelain, garnet jewelry, and more. The relaxed pace of this tour affords plenty of free time for wandering off the beaten track into Prague’s side streets and courtyards, and exploring the city’s many churches and attractions. If shopping is your favorite sport, you will not be disappointed.

Day 1: Our adventure begins high above the town of Prague at a specialty restaurant & microbrewery, inside one of the towns oldest Monastery’s with a hearty Bohemian style lunch. This hearty meal will Invigorate and fresh you for our walking tour of Prague and the Castle with our local guide beginning after lunch.  The Castle of Prague, only steps away from our lunch location, is the largest preserved fortress from the middle ages in all of Europe. From atop the castle hill we descend into town, crossing the Vltava (Moldau) River on the famous Charles bridge towards old town square. Early evening, we will check in to our 4-star Hotel, providing ample time to relax or explore on your own for the evening.

Day 2: After breakfast at the hotel, this legendary city is all yours to explore independently at your own pace. Take advantage of the tour guides recommendations of all the “must see” places in town. Make sure to ask your guide about the possibility of a cruise along the famous river for a different vantage point of the city, perhaps in the evening.

Day 3: After breakfast, we travel to Karlovy Vary, where your time is your own to sightsee, shop or enjoy the many architectural gems found throughout the city. There are 13 main hot springs throughout the city, all draining into the cold waters of the Tepla river creating huge jets of water and steam, and giving the city a romantic, misty ambiance. The presence of the springs and the healing mineral water they contain make it one of Europe’s premiere wellness destinations—step up to one, found in the center of town, and sip as the water bubbles directly from the earth. The city is also a top shopping spot for grand crystal chandeliers, china and stemware. A trip to Karlovy Vary would not be compete without a stroll through the riverside districts' expansive colonnades, columned walkways and stunning Neoclassical and Art-Nouveau spa buildings.
